Father/Son bowl

This is one that I helped my Dad make. It was one of those cherish able Father/Son adventures.  It is made out of cherry, from one of the trees he cut down.

Here you can see the strong knot in the piece.

I really like the grain pattern in cherry, this is one of my favorite woods.

While he was turning it actually busted loose from the chuck breaking the foot. My Dad was devastated but I convinced him this only added character to the piece of art.  Here you can see where the foot broke from the chuck.

The bowl was made out of an identical piece of wood as you see here.
