Oli's Doll Chest After much time spent planing and having the lumber milled, I finally got the energy to start on the chest. Actually my daughter has upped up the questioning as to when the chest will be done. The comment that finally got me going was "I'll be all grown up before you get the chest done". Here are some in process pictures. This is a quick snap shop of the case and top on the bench. I thought I would try to cooper the top so I designed a curved top. I rounded out the top using hand planes. Here you see the mortise for the lock. My daughter also likes old keys so I figured I had better put a lock on the chest. Mortise was done using only hand tools. The small hole is for the key. More to come.
