TV Case

This was my first case structure. After a few weeks of my Mom not finding something to put that big TV in, I offered to make something for her. The condition was that she gave me the money to buy the lumber (I was still poor) and I would design something that I liked. This is what I came up with. I started with a pile of air dried rough cherry, a sheet of 1/4" cherry ply for the sides and a sheet of 3/4" birch for the shelves.

The legs were cut on a cheepie bandsaw, but it got the job done.

The bottom shelf is fixed to give the structure some strength, the top one is adjustable.

The molding was made from scratch in my shop.  It took a while for me to decide on what the profile should look like.

10/20/2008 - This summer my parents bought a flat screen TV which meant that they no longer need the armoire.  So we decided to use the case for our own refridgerator instead of waisting the wood.  I had to disassemble the case, remove the feet and shorten the width in order to make it fit properly.

Here is a misc. shot of the stove along with the little cabinet I made to cover the side of the stove.
