Craftsman Bed
Here is a bed I made for a friend at work. He wanted a hand made bed so I had him look through books to see what style he liked. He ended up with Craftsman style. One of my Woodsmith magazines had an article from which I got the design. It was a first for me to actually follow a pre-drawn plan, it was interesting to say the least and also the last time I do that. It started as a $500 pile of rough cut maple. I finished it with BLO and a few coats of wipe on poly. Oh ya, the only metal is in the hardware to hold the sides to the foot and head boards. When done this thing weighed about 6000 pounds, at least it felt like it.
To my surprise the mortises looked pretty tight.
